June General Assembly = Ban the Box Forum

The DC Statehood Green Party June General Assembly has been replaced by the “Ban the Box” forum on Wednesday, June 8th, starting at 7 pm, at Bethlehem Baptist Church on 2458 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE- just around the corner from the Anacostia Metro Station.

“Ban the Box” refers to getting rid of that box found on housing and job application forms that you are asked to check if you have been arrested or incarcerated. This discrimination against citizens returning from incarceration must end.

What are returnees supposed to do when they cannot find jobs of housing?
