Now is the time, this is the place,
STATEHOOD4DCNOW, NOT LATER!

As a mother, grandmother, godmother and Surogate mother, Native Washingtonian in the Shaw neighborhood, I would like to be your US Senator to advocate for STATEHOOD. When I am elected US Senator, I will work to correct the disinfranchisement, lack of self government, and violation of our human rights. We owe it to the children to fight for Democracy. As leaders, we must constantly encourage and show our youth that they must continue to take a stand for all injustices. The fact that 582,049 residents in the Nations' Capitol, lack voting representation in the House and Senate is shameful and disgraceful, especially since we promote Democracy and Statehood all over the World .

DC is controlled by Congress, who does not claim DC as their resident, but control our budget, our laws and the justice system. We are denied a vote in the House and Senate. DC's Elected Senators and House Representative are denied access on Capitol Hill, where we should be a vital contributor in decisions that affect the USA and our city. We pay billions of dollars in Federal taxes and have no vote on how these funds are spent. All of the Federal taxes we pay, we don't have a vote on how this money is used, so most goes out of town to pork barrel projects proposed by Congresspersons from the 50 states. It's been 30 years of many, many bills and acts for Statehood,

DC is denied compensation for our Senators and House representatives while all other states receive compensation for their work as Senators and House representatives. We propose that federal taxes are suspended, until they decide on Statehood. DC can use that money to fix the schools now, not 10 years from now. How can we go to WAR in other countries, for democracy, when 582,049 citizens in DC do not have STATEHOOD.

AMERICA, DEMOCRACY BEGINS AT HOME!
What we all can do!!!!

• 
  
• Don't vote for candidates who will accept 1/3 citizenship or watered down versions of Statehood. We are guaranteed as equality, and a government for, by and of the people.
  
• Have your out of state relatives, friends, etc. call their Congressperson and request STATEHOOD for DC Now
  
• Our Green Party candidates are only advocating for full voting representation in Congress, not one vote.
  
• We call on voters from all 50 states to vote against every Congresspersons, who have violated our human rights by denying voting representation in the House and Senate.
  
• Moratorium on Federal taxes, until we become a State
  
• Stop this cycle of injustice to your own USA citizens,
  

DC voters, we have a lot of work to do. Vote for a US Senator,
who is up to the task of fighting for STATEHOOD. VOTE and
take a senior or neighbor on your block to the polls.
